I watched Hannah and Her Sisters on Netflix and I let it sit for a few days and I have to admit, I really liked it. I thought it was framed nicely with Thanksgiving as bookends of this families ups and downs. So, naturally, once I like a movie, I usually wikipedia it to see if I missed any easter eggs or a thematic message it was trying to give across. Thats when I realized that Hannah was portrayed by Mia Farrow. All throughout watching the film, I thought Hannah was played by Sissy Spacek — they both have those high cheekbones and big eyes— a mistake that could be made by anyone. Right?
Anyway, I had heard about Mia Farrow and Woody Allen’s high-profile demise but then I wikipedia’d it just to see if I had missed any easter eggs or thematic message. I found out that they never married during their 12 year relationship but did have a high-profile dispute for child custody. They also had one biological child which I had never heard of so of course…
I wikipediad their biological son Satchel, who at 11 years old was admitted to Bard College because he was a child prodigy. He went on to Yale Law at 16, after deferring a year (and this is when I was like, Oooh, I deferred grad school too, but then remembered I did that at 24). He is now currently serving as Special Advisor for Humanitarian and NGO Affairs at the US Department of State. He also changed his name to his middle name Ronan, which probably was smart to do but I liked Satchel . Anyway, all this and the boy (man?) is 23 years old. Also, who wouldve guessed this is what Woody Allen’s offspring would look like? Right? Oh man. The End!
