Listen, I know things have been rough ever since Mom got sick and her neck started growing at a rapid pace. Things haven’t been easy around here kid and you’ve never complained. Not when we sold your bed for medicine and then you had to sleep with us, you took that in stride. You didn’t blink an eye when I gave our whole family matching haircuts because you knew how much that would mean to Mom. I’m really proud of you and I know you’re going to go in there and pretend to be asleep, even though it’s not comfortable, just know that your Mom appreciates that we give her the entire pillow for herself. I also wanted you to know that she watches us when we’re sleeping and to tell you the truth, I know it’s creepy but I secretly love it. It’s the only thing that brings a smile to my face anymore. I promise you that once her neck gets to be a normal length, things will be back to normal, but until then, chin up son.
